Hostel admission procedure : For Post Doc they would not provide university/institute Hostel. I think the hostel is reserved for students up to PhD. I am staying outside the campus in rental apartment.
House rent : 750 Euro
Documents required : Basically ID proof (Passport), invitation letter (Convention Accueil) from institute, Salary slip or an bank account in Europe.
Food availability : Indian food rarely available in Paris, but you can have different kinds of French pizza, Turkish kebabs and etc. I do have lunch from institute restaurant in working days and I cook for myself in the night.

Opportunities for higher studies and career excellences : Yes, there are plenty of opportunities once you are in abroad. Most of the European universities/institutes are inter-connected or collaborated each other, so access to higher studies facilities and its chances are more. Here universities/institutes are not far from each other so one can attend seminars/meetings/conference being held in other places.
